| 'MISS SAIGON' OPENS AT THE ROSE CENTER THEATER ON NOVEMBER 15, 2008 |
Contact: Maurice Nguyen, President Elect The Asian Business Association of O.C. in collaboration with TNT Productions Professional Series is proud to present the Tony award-winning production “Miss Saigon” on Saturday November 15, 2008 at The Rose Theatre in Westminster, CA after our 14th Annual Recognition Awards Banquet to be held in the Rose Center ballrooms. A “Desert & Coffee Mixer” will take place between these events in the Lobby area. Alain Boublil and Claude-Michael Schönberg’s daring pop opera Miss Saigon is based on Puccini's classic opera, Madama Butterfly. Saigon in April 1975. Chris, a troubled American G.I., and Kim, an orphaned Vietnamese woman, find comfort in each other as the Vietnam War spirals out of control. Their few days of love, which are cut short with the Fall of Saigon, set into motion a life-and-death chain of events. And now, for the first time, Miss Saigon meets Little Saigon as it is performed in the heart of the Vietnamese District. Director, Tim Nelson, and choreographer, Diane Makas, reprise the APA production that was honored with the 2007 Macy Awards, Teatro Dell'arte Award. This stellar cast features Brittany Gerardi of Westminster as ‘Kim’ – Matt Bartosch of Westminster as ‘Chris’ – Joe Anderson of Costa Mesa as ‘Engineer’ – Brian Chapman of Huntington Beach as ‘John’ – Carrie Hacker of Long Beach as ‘Ellen’ and Glynn Montemayor of Buena Park as ‘Thuy, Long Cao as The Asst. Commisar, Nathan Pham as the Commisar, and Olivia Aniceto of La Mirada as Tam The Rose Center Theater is located at 14140 All American Way, off of Westminster Avenue two blocks east of Beach Boulevard. Parking is available in the corner lot or at City Hall in the public parking stalls. The spectacular Rose Center Theater is a new state-of-the-art theater complex located adjacent to the Rose Center ballrooms in the City of Westminster, Orange County, California. This elegant 419-seat theater is the perfect venue to showcase a variety of performances including Professional Theatrical Productions, Touring Shows, Dance Companies, Orchestral Concerts, Community Events and more. With an impressive 40-foot wide proscenium stage, this 16,000 square foot facility boasts a magnificent performance space designed with luxurious VIP boxes, professional sound and lighting equipment and 2 spacious glass-enclosed upper and lower lobbies. |
